Kick Into The Future
In April of 2017, adidas gathered a handful of guests in NYC to showcase the new technology of future sportswear, specifically on the foot.
Not only is the material a benchmark to future footwear technology, but also the method of producing it. CARBON's collaboration with adidas is behind the birth of an over-engineered footwear called the Futurecraft 4D, made by 3D printing.
CARBON used a procedure called Digital Light Synthesis, which they claimed will exclude time-consuming processes such as prototyping, and instead will dive right into the manufacturing based on athletic data. This means that the midsole will be ENTIRELY tuned to athletes needs.
