10ᵗʰ Oct 2018 was indeed a momentous milestone for Gamuda GM Group as they unveiled GM Bukit Bintang (GMBB), a creative hub set to bring together yellow-collar professionals and artisanal enterprises across the region into one retail destination. It may sound like a grand dream but during the soft launch, it was announced that there are already 108 aspiring Malaysian brands geared up to showcase their creative work at GMBB from 10ᵗʰ Oct 2018 to 10ᵗʰ Jan 2018 in an exhibition called “108 by GMBB”.

Dato’ Lim Seng Kok officiated the soft launch by expressing his vision of building a place for the creative industry, where creative individuals and enterprises can showcase their work to the world, while hoping that it would elevate the creativity in Malaysia and Asia as a whole. GMBB is not only positioned to be a one-stop destination for consumers to shop for all things creative, it also creates a support system or ecosystem for creative entrepreneurs where collaboration are easily achieved and opportunities will be aplenty because they are physically together.

Of course, it wouldn’t do justice if the launch wasn’t also creatively done. Just outside the event hall is an open gallery featuring Eddie Putera’s highly praised miniature art. From old vehicles to intricate depiction of life in the olden days, each piece of art represents a very powerful narrative of days past. Eddie Putera never fails to evoke our childhood memories by recreating scenes we shared growing up as Malaysians and iconic locations we all knew intimately back in the day.

Situated in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s cultural district as well as in the Golden Triangle, this mall definitely has the potential to draw in the crowd. What’s more, the area would typically have a foot traffic record of over 2.5 million people per month. An extra tip from us, if you aren’t driving, Plaza Rakyat LRT is just 0.9 km away. As soon as you exit the station, just walk along Jalan Pudu towards Cheras and you will see GMBB on your right.
